I know, a silly headline but I had to do it.

The last four months have been full speed ahead. I have had great success and I hope to keep pushing forward. In the coming months, I hope to transfer my main identity on the web over to a new domain. This blog will still be at this address, just my freelance design will no longer be on createsdesign.com.

Also, I am looking into how a designer can be successful in the “New Media” area of the web and beyond. There has to be a way for creatives to use this new space to help businesses communicate with their audience. Better yet, For Businesses to find out HOW to get THEIR audience to Communicate Better with their business.

I have read and heard that the new way to do business is to find out what the consumer wants to do with the brand[business]. Also The Viral Loop is getting big
and Interesting. Now it is just my job to find out how to tap into these new avenues and begin to explore how I can use that information to help My Clients Succeed.

Be Well,
Jamie

Not much to say as far as a story. But I won Best of Show in Print for my Toyota Scion Newspaper Campaign. I also won the Special Judges award for My Logo Design for Carpe Vino. Examples for both are below. I still can’t believe that I won both of these.

Oh yeah, they will do it for free too.

Traditional advertising teaches us that more exposure equals more sells of your product or service. That statement still holds true today except now it will not cost you a single dime for that same exposure.

How is this possible? It starts with your customers and how you get them to react. Instead of constantly yelling and interrupting them, just let your customers spread your message. Best of all, they will do it for free. So, how do you get your customers to talk about your company and do it effectively?

people.jpgThere are many names for it, Web 2.0, Social Media, New Media and New Marketing, just to name a few. It’s not important what we call it. What is important is that your company learns how to interact and teach your customers HOW to spread your message.

I am going to share with you how one company has taken a wonderful idea and let their customers literally tell the world. It is working, not only have they told the world, they are still spreading the message. The best part, their customers have done every bit of it for free.

The company is Seesmic, which is run by CEO Loic Le Meur from france and is based in San Francisco. Loic, with the help of his friends, at first, started a buzz and turned that into a conversation. Seesmic, which is like IMing, via video, had a tsunami of users in just a few short months.

[as of this post] Seesmic is currently in Alpha and allowing new users to join and the test the service. New users only have to wait about 24 hours to receive their invite code. The wait was several weeks to months in the begining. Seesmic was only letting a select handful at a time to join in the conversation. They had to manage the size of the community and watch the servers for lag and activity. As the technology and users grew so has Seemic. Even during this initial phase it was said that there were thousands of hopefuls waiting to get the “golden ticket invite” (as it was called by the people who had yet to receive theirs.

Even, with all this waiting people are still banging on the door to get in. So, how can you get your customers to help your company change the world? Give them a reason to talk about your company. Sound Simple, be careful, it could backfire.

On my next post, I will go over a few steps on how you can leverage ANY business with this process.
